The are just 10, perhaps less, Vaquita dolphins still with us in the world today. They are victims of gillnets used for fishing in the shallow waters off the coast of Mexico. Our Vaquita Dolphin blue and white banded bracelet has distinctive black bands to match the dark circles around the Vaquita's eyes. It will take a lot more than hope to save these friendly and harmless mammals from the negligence of fishermen, and our bracelet asks fishermen to clean up after themselves in the name of this lovely mammal!
Dolphins
Dolphins love us, they entertain, laugh and even protect and save us. They are highly intelligent and love company, living in communities of up to 1,000 dolphins - a very human characteristic. Sadly we've not reciprocated the great pleasures they have shared with us. In fact, people are the dolphins' worst enemy and today seven of the forty or so species of dolphin are now endangered, two critically. Fishing nets have taken a toll, but its Climate Change that's dramatically changing their marine environment as rising sea temperatures rise bleaching reefs, confusing migrations and interfering with nature's reproductive processes. Our two dolphin bracelets in blue and white bands celebrate these animals, whilst the black bands offer a forgiving hand if we can help these almost human mammals.
