Your Trees vs Our Trees

Every Band of Courage plants 10 Mangrove trees, and comes with a 10 Tree Planting Certificate telling you all about your trees, where they're planted, and how much Carbon Dioxide you have recycled.

We plant a tree for every follower on Instagram at our cost, as our wany of offsetting our Carbon Dioxide emissions as a business. We are Carbon Negative, we put out more oxygen than we create Carbon Dioxide.

Planting trees by hand creates jobs and supports local communities in Madagascar and Kenya.

Humanity has cut down an area of forests equivalent to twice the size of the United States in the last 20 years. Tree planting, reforesting is needed to counter-balance this loss.

Animals

Mangrove trees live in salty water, providing a home to marine animals in their root systems and land animals in their canopies. The inspirations for our bands come from the sea and land, so planting Mangroves, helping both, makes us happy.

Mangrove trees purify the water, absorbing and storing pollutants making for happier fish, and absorb 3.08 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide, filtering the air and returning Oxygen, so we can all breathe.

How it works . . .

We plant a fixed number of trees per band, so you can know the impact you are having. So, you can say, "I've planted 15 Mangrove trees and am Net Zero for a year, by offsetting my equal share of global CO2 emissions."

You buy a Band of Courage and pay us to plant trees on your behalf.

US

We pay Veritree to plant a fixed number of trees based on a minimum level of sales, currently 20,000 trees per week. We plant this minimum of of trees whether we make the sales or not. If we sell more, we plant more. We keep a daily tally in the shop on a blackboard.

VERITREE

Veritree partners with tree planting projects around the world who plant the trees for its clients.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Local communities are employed by tree planting projects who plant and look after the trees.

The team is based in Vancouver in Canada and founded by the team that started 10 Tree, an outdoor clothing company that's planted over 100 million trees.

Veritree are environmental experts with a long history planting trees, currently planting about 3 million trees a week for clients, all of which they certify.

They also offer all sorts of other environmentally restorative goodies.

They Clean up the Planet

One Mangrove Tree absorbs 308 kgs of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), storing the Carbon and releasing the Oxygen. They also filter the water, storing the nasties and purifying the water.

Fresh & Salt Water Proof

Like our bands, Mangrove trees love both fresh and salt water. Able to survive on both, means they can live in coastal areas next to the sea.

Protection

Living along the coastline and on river banks, Mangrove trees protect the land from rising sea levels and storm surges which cause flooding.

Homes for Marine & Land Animals

Living in the water Mangrove trees provide a home for both marine and land animals, and both are inspirations for the design of your bands.
