The Alchemy: 3 grams to 3 tons

Alchemy is the mystical art of taking something worthless and making it incredibly valuable. In medieval times it was turning lead into gold. Our alchemist customers turn 3 grams of silicon or sand into 10 trees, absorbing 3 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide. 3 grams of something worthless into 3 tonnes of life. Thank you.

Our Inspiration

The Russian Author Leo Tolstoy, tells us, "one of the first conditions of happiness is that humanity's link with Nature shall not be broken," so we're trying to reconnect the dots in nature, the connections between between people, plants, animals and the planet.

1 Band Plants 10 Trees

Part of that reconnection involves planting Mangrove trees - creating plants, giving animals a home, jobs for people and helping the planet by combating CO2. Planting is managed and certified by Veritree (www.veritree.com)

Recycling Our Bands

We're still a small family business with a team of four, including mum and dad. We will be launching a recycling program in 2026 as soon as we have worked out how to use it to plant more trees.

Our sustainability today

We've set up our own supply chain working with extraordinary partners who share our passions; pretty much everything is environmentally certified - materials, buildings, working practices, and the like. We use natural and recycled materials. We're carbon negative as a business (creating more Oxygen than CO2). Our recycling programme is to come in 2026 which is super exciting. Doing lots, thinking about lots, looking for ways of making a difference. 'The One Book Plants 15 Trees' to make you Net Zero' for a year launches in 2026.

The Search for Answers

We set out to build a purposeful and sustainable business. We couldn't find definitions of these two meaningful words OR measure them to tell the difference. So we set out on a journey to find definitions and measure them to tell them apart!

HOW TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Every book plants 15 trees making its owner Net Zero for a year based on our methodology. You're making a difference before you read a word.

Non-cents or nonsense?

Startups are tough, so, to create a purposeful, sustainable business we decided that every decision would be about purpose or non-cents, make sense? Chapter 1 below explains how.

Alice's 18 Pillars of purpose & sustainability

We created a Code for anyone wanting to build a purposeful business - entrepreneurs and change makers alike. Alice In Wonderland's 18 Pillars of Purpose & Sustainability is that code.

The Currency of purpose

You can't bank purpose, it doesn't have a currency. So, we invented our own - trees - 10 for every band sold.

If you can't measure it, it doesn't exist

We invented a little game for telling the difference between Purpose and Sustainability. One adults and kids can play together. It's called Alice's Contrariwise Test of Purpose & Sustainability.

What we discovered

True sustainability lies in happiness. Happy people live longer, have more fun, enjoy better relationships, are more productive and, guess what, make other people happy too.

Our Challenge

To create a fun happy place which could also make a difference.

The Means?

To make our point, we wanted to build a business where purpose and sustainability are the seed and roots of what we do.

The why?

As parents, with kids we didn't want them growing up without nature. We've lost 69% of our wildlife in the last 50 years - its got to stop.

The How?

With Alice by our side and some of the greatest minds in history, Issac Newton, Marcus Aurelius, and Georg Hegel, to help solve the many problems we faced, and face.

Successful?

We're just setting out on our journey, its too early to say. You have planted 2 million trees.
