Handmade with tempered glass
This bracelet is handmade by artisans using tempered glass and 24K gold plated beads, and is available in stretch elastic measuring 17cm / 6.5 inches in length.
Gift packaging - A Gift that gives back
Every band comes in its own drawstring fabric pouch together with a planting certificate for your 10 trees. You address your certificate personally (by hand) which explains how your trees combat global warming to help people and animals alike. There is also a gift card on which you can write a personal message, the back of which tells you all about Global Warming. Sadly we've run out of gift cards relating to the Miami Blue and will include a Bands of Courage Climate Change Gift Card.
Your bracelet & care
The tempered glass beads will hold their colours in water although they should not be exposed to perfumes, chemicals, cosmetics and the like. The 24K gold plated beads should be treated like all gold jewellery (see care guide).
Shipping
Your order will be processed within 2 business days of receipt. Shipments are tracked and details for the delivery service you choose are shown on checkout.
The Miami Blue Butterfly
The Miami Blue Butterfly is so called because it lives exclusively around Miami in Southern Florida, and is blue. This small insect was thought to have become extinct in the 1980s due to habitat loss. In 1999 a few Miami Blues were found in a national park in the Lower Florida Keys since when breeding programmes have recovered the species, although it remains critically endangered. Our lighter blue and white bracelet celebrates the return of these beauties and hopefully their future prosperity as a species.
Blue Butterflies
A butterfly's journey through life begins with rebirth - starting as a caterpillar, it's patience in a cocoon is rewarded with graceful and spectacular wings and flight amongst the trees. It's a journey of rebirth which, in North America at least, has been repeated by three species of butterflies (including the Karner Blue and the Palos Verdes Blue) which have all returned from extinction. It shows just what can be achieved when there is a will to save endangered animals, no matter how small. The 3 bracelets in the Blue Butterflies set are also shown.
