The Karner Blue butterfly is named after its discovery in Karner, New York. Found today in the Great Lake States and New Jersey, the Karner Blue was extinct in Canada and other areas by the year 2000 thanks primarily to loss of habitat. Today the species is making a recovery as the Blue Lupine Flower, on which the Karner Blue is dependent, is being planted to save the species. Our blue Karner Blue bracelet is white - symbolic of life - with flashes of blue and gold to celebrate it's apparent return from extinction!
Planting Trees to highlight the WWF's Report published today that wildlife populations have dropped by 69% since 1970!
