Blue Footed-Booby

Blue-footed Boobies are very contrariwise, as their looks depend on their feet. Females choose their male partners based on the blueness of their feet; the brighter blue they are, the more attractive he is, the healthier he is. B-f Boobies live in the Galápagos Islands, where you’d think they’s be safe, sitting in the middle of the world’s largest ocean. But they aren’t, although not officially endangered, local sources disagree. The prospects aren’t good. Climate change is altering the flows of Pacific currents, and with them, the Sardines that follow those currents, the Boobies’ favourite food, The shortage of Sardines is causing birth rates to drop dramatically. B-f Boobies are named after the Spanish ‘bobo’, meaning “fool”, and they are fooled. They’re spending more and more time on the cliffs over looking the ocean, wondering where on earth their Sardines have gone!
