Polar Bears
Polar Bears are the largest carnivores in the world and are classified as ‘marine mammals. They can swim for days at a time and are called 'Polar' because they only live in the Arctic at the North Pole. With their habitat at risk from global warming (melting ice) and invasion by oil companies food is also scarce and only 2 in every 100 hunts for food are successful. There are now just 22,000 Polar Bears left. With their blue tongues, black skin and white fur, these magnificent bears grow up to 800 kgs, the weight of 10 men! Magnificence it seems is no guarantee of survival.

Loggerhead Sea Turtle Population
Loggerhead Sea Turtles are so called because of their large or log heads, which support bone crushing jaws to feed on hard shell creatures like sea urchins. Loggerheads live across the world in the Mediterranean Pacific, and warmer oceans and seas. They nest on beaches and the warmer the sand the more females are born, upsetting the balance of the species. They are also threatened by fishing nets, plastic bags and damage to their nesting beaches, the population is decreasing. Every two to three years females return to the beaches where they were born to nest, which means taking a dangerous journey of over 12,000 miles. That’s a long journey with many dangers today, so it’s no wonder their population is in decline. There could be as few as 36,000 nesting female Loggerheads remaining in 2015.
Sea turtles can't retract their heads and legs into their bodies, so their shells aren't really homes as such, more like a shield. And its this armour that's helped them to become one of the oldest living species on the planet today - turtles were trawling the world's oceans over 100 million years ago when T-Rex was hunting dinosaurs on land. Sadly their shield is no match for the threats humanity as introduced into the oceans including plastic bags which they eat mistaking them for jelly fish (their favourite food); discarded fishing nets, which they get caught up in and drown and, of course, they are hunted for meat. But it's Global Warming that will likely determine their destiny. In the oceans, warmer waters are bleaching the reefs destroying the turtles' natural habitats, and on land, the hotter sands in which turtles lay their eggs are producing more male than female turtles. The heat of the sand in which the eggs gestate determines the sex of the hatchlings and, the warmer it gets, the fewer females and the fewer eggs in future. People, the seas and the lands all seem totally aligned against these gorgeous little creatures who've been around forever.

Bee Population
There are over 20,000 species of Bees, but don't let that fool you, the total population has declined by over 87% in last few years thanks to fewer flowers, deforestation, and pesticides. We are destroying their habitats, yet bees are responsible for pollinating crops that make up about a third - 33% - of all the food we eat. And they work hard! Bees fly the equivalent of 3x around the world to produce 1 Kg of honey and they must visit almost 500,000 flowers to produce that Kg of honey! 1 bee alone only produces 5 grams or 1 teaspoon of honey in their lifetime - so it takes the lives of 200 bees to produce 1 Kg of honey! It takes 4,000 bees to weigh 1 Kg. And bees are tidy, they clean and groom each other and the hexagonal honeycomb is the most efficient shape in the world. We may cease to be without our hardworking bees!
Heart Reef
This unique bracelet is inspired by Heart Reef, a naturally formed coral reef creating an island in the shape of a heart found on Australia's Great Barrier Reef. The only heart shaped reef in the world, it measures just 17 meters across. Heart Reef is a living animal made up of trillions of tiny polyps living within the calcium corals, which look like flowers, or 'the rain forests of the seas' as they are often called. When sea temperatures rise 1 degree or more above average, the animal polyps are shocked and forced to leave their coral skeleton home. 90% of the coral skeleton's food is provided by it's resident polyps and if the polyps are away too long the reef starts to bleach and then die! Climate Change is heating the seas, its changing weather patterns and therefore ocean currents, upsetting order within the oceans, and too often killing lifeforms which can't adapt fast enough. Taking over 200 million years to form, this iconic Australian reef is a symbol of enduring love.

Hawksbill Sea Turtles have narrow and pointed mouths which look like the beak of a hawk. They are the smallest of the sea turtles, growing 2 to 3 feet long and weighing a massive (for its size) 100 pounds owing to the weight of its shell. There are now just around 8,000 nesting Hawksbills left in the world spread across 5 populations. They are hunted for their shells and meat, and killed by the 640,000 tons of ‘ghost fishing nets’ abandoned by fishermen in the sea every year. When you think that thousands of turtles are killed every year, you can see why the Hawksbill is now a 'critically endangered' species i.e. on the verge of extinction, and we must save them!
We've created a bracelet capturing the colours of the Hawksbill's shell - the hues of browns and greens it collects on this armour plating as it migrates around the world. The Hawksbill looks almost iridescent after swimming perhaps millions of miles in the deep. Whilst great travelers, their habitats are the world's coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and the Great Barrier Reef, the largest reef in the world, is a favorite Celebrate this wonderful creature who is over 100 million years old - they have been on the planet a lot longer than us!

Black Jaguars, Black Panthers, and Black Leopards are all the same animal and which is called the “Ghost of the Forest” because of their color and stealth. Not only are they incredibly beautiful, Black Jaguars are supreme triathletes and can swim, run and climb trees with equal grace and ease. And, if that wasn’t enough, the Jaguar has the most powerful jaws of all the big cats including Tigers. With so much going for them, is it any surprise that by one means or other (deforestation being prime among them) humans have now reduced the global population of Black Jaguars to less than 600!
