Blue Whale

Blue Whales are the loudest animals on Earth, talking at 180 decibels; a jet engine can only manage 140 decibels. With hearts the size of a car they grow up to 30 meters (100 feet) long weighing over 180 tonnes – that’s 30 elephants. They live for 90 years. Their biggest enemy is humanity, hunting them for food, trapping them in discarded fishing nets, hitting them with ships. We’ve lost 97% of Blue Whales in the last century. Today, they’re endangered, with a population on the rise, thanks to global efforts. It's not too late! Farmers plough their fields, and Blue Whales plough the oceans, stirring up nutrients at the bottom of the oceans, bringing them to the surface, so our oceans can thrive and we can survive. They are the ploughs, the famers, of the Oceans.
