The Great Barrier Reef
The GBR is the largest living animal on earth, at 2,600 kms it's almost as long as the Atlantic Ocean is wide! It's also the oldest at 20 million years - it's been alive long before humans came along! The Reef is home to 1/3rd of the world's coral populations, 10% of its fish populations and thousands of species, including 6 out of the 7 species of Sea Turtles whose survival depends on the Reef where they nest. Rising sea temperatures have bleached 91% of the 719 reefs on the GBR, killing coral comprising trillions of tiny 'CO2 recycling' coral polyps, and Phytoplankton which worldwide, recycle over half our CO2 and produces over half our Oxygen! Your trees absorb Carbon, CO2, from the air, cooling it and the seas to preserve this Natural Wonder of our World. Thank you!
