Baloo is Mowgli's best friend and self-adopted father figure missing in his life who protects him and shows him how to survive in the jungle. We chose white as a bracelet for Baloo as it is symbolic of his peaceful, carefree nature which, flecked with its red and green bands, salutes his spiritual authority and undeniable strength.
Bears are revered as the strongest of creatures in many cultures. Several species of bears are endangered as we invade and destroy their forest habitats including the white bears like Polar and Panda bears. Think of these remarkable animals as you wear Baloo, the happy go lucky bear whose as cheerful and funny as he is strong and powerful.
The Jungle Book
Many of our bands are named after rare (endangered) animals as a mark of respect and to raise awareness of their impending extinction.Written in the 19th century, the Jungle Book is an apt subject for us as a story of people and animals living side by side in the jungles of India. It shows how each helps the other and our Jungle Book set celebrates the joyful connection between people, animals, and trees (the forest). It's one of our favourite stories and reminds us just how how important our link or band with Nature is - as Leo Tolstoy said "One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between Man and Nature shall not be broken".
